Calendula officinalis infused olive oil: The main active ingredient in the salve, Calendula has been used topically for centuries to heal wounds, burns, rashes, inflammations, and various other skin issues. It is one of the most researched herbal remedies and has an abundance of evidence on its functionality.
St. John’s Wort (Hypericum perforatum) infused grapeseed oil: Has antibacterial and antiviral properties, and calms nerve pain. Effective on things like cold sores.
Beeswax: Used as part of the non-medicinal base of the salve, it is the base ingredient that helps the salve hold its shape, yet remain applicable.
Cocoa butter: Another non-medicinal ingredient in the salve, cocoa butter serves to soften the salve so that it can be applied, yet stay in solid form. As well as this, it is a rather effective moisturizing agent for the skin.
Vitamin E: Added in low amounts to serve as another moisturizing substance that promotes wound healing, but also for its antioxidant properties, extending the shelf life of the salve.
Lavender (Lavandula officinalis) essential oil: Finally, lavender oil is used to add a pleasant smell to the final product.
